Flushing Battery or Hamilton Light Artillery Recruited at Flushing in August, Sept, October 1861 after Recruited known as Light Battery L 2nd N.Y. V. Battery. Left Flushing for the field December 2nd 1861 with five officers and 148 enlisted men.
Reenlisted at Lenoir Station East Tennessee Nov 15th 1863 69 Sixty-Nine men out of 71 Seventy one present for Duty Reenlisted as a Veteran Command.
In accordance with Orders No 395 Nov 5th 1863 No 376 Nov 21st ? of 1863 War Department Washington D.C.
This Veteran Command to be known hereafter as per Order from War Department No. 19 63 and from his Excellency the Governor of the State of New York, No 916 February 11th, 1864 As the 34th New York Light Independent Veteran Volunteer Battery.
